Jipangyi Seoul Cane Ice Cream Philippines

Last Saturday (September 27, 2014), Jackie and I went to SM Bicutan to buy a gift for our Marketing Director’s son 1st birthday party. While walking, we’ve noticed some students holding a stick-shape cone (like a letter “J”) with ice cream on top and at the bottom. So we were intrigued what that weird shape snack is.

We went to the other side of the mall and searched for the store. Tadaan! It’s Jipangyi.

Jipangyi Seoul Cane Ice Cream

According to their service crew, that "J" shaped corn snack a.ka Jipangyi Seoul Cane Ice Cream, is a Korean traditional snack and is made of 100% corn injected with Soft Ice Cream Gelato. This ice cream is very popular in Insadong, Korea.

In the Philippines, it costs P35.00 per piece. During our visit, available flavors are chocolate and vanilla. I don’t know if they are offering different flavors per season.

Basically, the Jipangyi Seoul Cane Ice Cream is at par with 7-eleven soft serve in terms of taste while the cone is very unique because of its firm texture and “corn” flavor.

The stall is located at the second floor, annex building of SM Bicutan, Paranaque. According to their facebook page, they have other branches in Luzon:
  • SM San Lazaro
  • Alabang Town Center
  • SM Marilao
  • SM Bicutan
  • SM Sta. Rosa
  • Starmall Alabang
  • Robinsons Antipolo
  • SM Manila
Overall, this ice cream craze is a must-try!
